About Me
I'm a SAHM concerned about the environment. My daughter is autistic and on a special Gluten, Casien (Dairy), Soy free diet. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I grow some of my own vegetables, compost and purchase local whenever possible. I also try and avoid buying items in excessive packaging and buy used instead of new as often as I can. Reuse, Re-purpose, Recycle.

I finished Better Off last week. I actually got a lot of reading done without so many distractions! There were a lot of great ideas in the book. I thought it was written in a slightly disjointed manner but loved some of the thoughts about how much work is created by having technology. We always think of the time/work savings from technology but when we look at it honestly, sometimes we are just creating new work that really didn't need to be done.

My daughter and her boyfriend are throwing a Halloween party this weekend. They went to Goodwill to buy prizes and got random books like 'the Communist Manifesto, and how to train your dog.' The first prize is a bowling trophy.
