Comment by Liz Nelis on October 27, 2009 at 9:42am - In my quest to reduce my garbage I had to look at what I do with my pets, 2 dogs and a cat. That is about 20% of my garbage. I am scooping the dog poop into a yogurt container and flushing it, but does anyone have any suggestions with the cat. I have been composing for about 6 years now and people at my office give me their banana peels and apple cores, it is great.

Comment by Terri Oian on October 25, 2009 at 9:58pm - Day 1 has been a success! We have even decided to start composting. I saved all of today’s waste that could go into it and am amazed by how much is in our “compost bucket”.

- Very excited to do this! Never got in my car today except to get my sunglasses and to grab Colin's book. Rode my bike to the library and grocery store. Not sure how we are going to do this...didn't realize it started today...already feel VERY behind! But the overall "flavor" is that I am getting some great ideas for reduction and for alternatives. We are already thinking about local grocers/markets, etc.
